Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how we collects and uses information when you use ApplyGuide (the “App”) and related API services at developerpro07.github.io/ApplyGuide-site.

1. Information we collect

• Account data — email, name, password hash, session tokens.
• Application planning data — student profile (GPA, grade, major, test scores), college list, uploaded document text/metadata, extracted fields, tasks, and plan state.
• Device & notifications — push device tokens and notification preferences.
• Billing — subscription/entitlement status via RevenueCat (we do not store full payment card numbers).
• Support & diagnostics — limited server logs needed to operate the service.

2. How we use information

• To provide readiness snapshots, ranked tasks, and plans.
• To run document extraction and optional essay/narrative flagging (when OpenAI is configured, content may be sent to that provider for processing).
• To authenticate sessions, prevent abuse, and send transactional email (e.g. password reset).
• To deliver optional push notifications about approaching application deadlines.

ApplyGuide does not use your data to produce admission odds or sell personalized advertising based on application content.

3. Sharing

We use processors such as hosting providers, email delivery (e.g. Resend), push (Firebase), billing (RevenueCat), and optionally OpenAI for extraction/review. We do not sell personal information.

4. Retention & deletion

You may delete your account in the App. Deletion removes associated planning data subject to short-lived backups and legal retention needs.

5. Security

We use industry-standard practices (hashed passwords, HTTPS in production, access controls). No method of transmission is 100% secure.

6. Children

ApplyGuide is intended for students and parents managing college applications. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data, contact us to remove it.
